Projective Constructions at UNL 2017

I had a chance to teach an upper level studio as a Visiting Lecturer in Nebraska last year. Before initiating their final design projects, students had an opportunity to explore Material Practice at full scale, developing SITE-SPECIFIC PROJECTIVE CONSTRUCTIONS. Work shown is by the student team Noel Castro + Wangying Wu.

The project engaged viewers in the school atrium to slowly discover the vertical alignments among fabricated steel elements, ultimately leading to a book placed at the top level. The work emphasized Analog Fabrication Techniques, in contrast to the digital fab techniques usually developed in my seminars.
