PolyForm: Biomimetic Surfaces

PolyForm: Biomimetic Surfaces was presented at the 2006 ACADIA Synthetic Landscapes conference this October in Louisville, Kentucky. The paper has been published in the conference proceedings. I’ll be posting an online version soon. The essay built upon an earlier paper published in the 2004 Acadia Fabrication conference in Toronto. The new work shifts from STATIC assemblages to ADAPTIVE SURFACES.

The work was produced over the last three years at the University of South Florida, prior to moving to Houston.
The paper establishes a new direction in teaching and research, stressing the confluence of Interactive Art, Robotics, Algorithmic Design and Architecture.
